Scholarship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for Prof. Viktoriia Hnatushenko

Prof. Viktoriia Hnatushenko, Ukrainian University of Science and Technology, Dnipro and currently a guest at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation at Leibniz University Hannover, has been awarded a scholarship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and will spend the next two years in Hannover conducting research in the field of forest damage monitoring from satellite data.

With the initiative named after the Jewish pathologist Philipp Schwartz,  the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has been supporting scientists at risk since 2015. With the help of this program, those who are exposed to significant and persistent personal danger in their countries of origin can continue their work at German universities and research institutions.
