Recent Numerical Modeling Investigations in Environmental Hydraulics: Crossing Scales and Applications, August 1, 2:00 pm, room 116

Introduction

Numerical modeling provides us with quantitively and efficient tools for the investigation of environmental hydraulic problems. In this talk, recent numerical studies carried out by the group including the modeling of bio-grouting processes, geo-hazards problems, and wave-structure interaction processes are introduced. The spatial scale of the discussed applications varies from the pore scale in porous media to the meter scale in ocean engineering problems.

Biography

Dianlei Feng is currently a research professor at Tongji University since 2021, leading a group working on numerical modeling of environmental hydraulic problems. He obtained his Doctoral degree from Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) in 2017, his Master from the University of Chinese Academic of Sciences in 2013, and Bachelor degree from Tongji University in 2010. He has published more than 20 scientific papers and received two national funding (from DFG and NSFC). He used to give the lecture Groundwater Hydraulics at LUH and recently is giving the lecture of Elastoplasticity Mechanics at Tongji University.
