Mahdi Motagh new Professor for Radar Remote Sensing at IPI

As of the summer semester 2017, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Motagh has been appointed Professor for Radar Remote Sensing by the Leibniz University at the Institute for Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI) along with his appointment at the German Geo Research Centre (Deutschen Geoforschungszentrums - GFZ, Helmholtz-Zentrum Potsdam). He also holds a guest professorship at the Wuhan University in China.

Motagh (43) studied in Iran, earned his doctorate in Potsdam und speaks fluid German. Since 2007, he is employed at GFZ where he leads the working group 'Radar and Optical Remote Sensing for Analyzing Geohazards'. On June 12, 2018 he held his inaugural lecture at the Leibniz University on „Imaging geodesy with InSAR: Contributions to Seismology, Geology and Engineering“.
