Institute for Photogrammetry and GeoInformation awarded by Indian Vice President for significant contribution to international development

In view of the exceptional value it has added towards development of photogrammetry, remote sensing and geospatial science for more than 50 years, the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI), Leibniz Universität Hannoverr has been chosen as the recipient of the Building Geospatial Capacities and Knowledge Network Award from GIS Development. GIS Development is an Indian non-profit organisation dedicated to the worldwide development of geospatial technology based in New Delhi.

 

With Prof. Konecny and Dr. Jacobsen present in the audience, the award was presented to Prof. Heipke by the Indian Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari during the inaugural ceremony of Map World Forum on February 10, 2009 at Hyderabad, India.
