Christian Heipke receives Meydenbauer medal

The head of the Institute for Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI) at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Prof. Christian Heipke, was awarded the Albrecht Meydenbauer Medal at the annual meeting of the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF) for his special achievements in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing.

Albrecht Meydenbauer (1834-1921) is considered one of the fathers of photogrammetry worldwide. He particularly developed architectural photogrammetry and coined the term photogrammetry in the 2nd half of the 19th century. In 1908 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the then Technical University Hannover.
