Equal Opportunities and Gender Equality

The implementation of equal opportunities and gender equality is a major priority at Leibniz Universität Hannover and is consistently implemented at all levels.


EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AT LEIBNIZ UNIVERSITÄT HANNOVER

The university is committed to implementing the DFG's research-oriented equality standards and published its final report in 2013. On this basis, the university was placed in stage 3 regarding its gender equality concept with the rating: "A convincing overall concept has been implemented". In 2017, Leibniz Universität Hannover was again awarded the Total E-Quality Award for its efforts to promote equality between women and men. As a central institution, the Equal Opportunities Office oversees all core areas of Leibniz Universität - university access, studies and teaching, research and continuing education.

The Equal Opportunities Office focuses on Equal Opportunities for women and men, the promotion of diversity through Diversity Management as well as the Family Service.


EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AT THE RESEARCH TRAINING GROUP

The Research Training Group offers the following programmes to ensure equal opportunities for doctoral students and the compatibility of career and family for our employees:

Career Advancement

  • Individual coaching on career development or presentation techniques
  • Qualification programs such as "team mentoring" or "fiMINT"

Family Support

  • Individually adapted part-time work
  • Installation of a home office
  • Emergency childcare
  • Early and late services in the Leibniz-Kids Kindergarten
  • The option to take children and a caregiver on research and conference trips,             reimbursement of travel expenses
