The Master's programmes in civil engineering and environmental engineering have achieved top rankings nationwide in the latest CHE university ranking.

The two Master's programmes scored highly in the research-related categories "Research funding per scientist" and "Doctorates per professor" as well as in the category "International orientation in master's programmes". The master's programme in environmental engineering also performed particularly well in the category "Degrees completed within a reasonable time".

Together with TU Berlin, Leibniz University Hannover has ranked first in Germany for third-party funding per scientist in Civil Engineering. Universities raise such research funds in addition to their basic funding from government funding agencies, foundations or companies.

The Master's ranking by the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) has been published since 2015 and provides information on a total of 39 subjects. It is the most comprehensive ranking of Master's programmes in Germany.  This round evaluated the following Master's degree programmes offered at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH): Civil Engineering, Plant Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.
